Chocolate Concrete!

Back in an age lost in the mists of time, members of Romiley Literary Circle used to long for their favourite pudding when they assembled in the dining hall for their school dinner. Here is the recipe:


6 oz flour
4 oz margerine/butter
4 oz castor sugar
1/2 oz cocoa

    The Method of Preparation

Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly until a crumbly texture is achieved. Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking tin, press it down firmly and smooth the surface (ideal thickness 3/8" to 1/2"). Bake at gas mark 6 (400 deg.C) for 10-15 minutes.
