Back to Front PageCHAIN LETTER ART

Ever wonder what a chain letter contains? Well, here's your chance to find out. This is the unedited text of one received by an RAF member. The use of English tends to be rather quaint in places and we suspect that it was composed by a foreigner whose first language is not English.
Our legal friends tell us that any scheme which is described so often as 'legal' is bound to be dead dodgy.

PLEASE READ THIS LETTER CAREFULLY -
DO NOT THROW IT AWAY IT REALLY WORKS

Dear Opportunity Seeker,

Are you sick of making ends meet? Do other people always seem better off than you?

My name is David Rhodes. In September 1995 my car was repossessed and debt collectors were hounding me like you would not believe! I was made redundant at work and my prospects looked bleak. In January 1996 I received a letter telling me how to earn £50,000 at a time.

Of course, I was sceptical, but I was desperate and with virtually nothing to lose and everything to gain, I decided to give it a go. In the summer of 1996 my family and I went on a ten-day cruise and I brought a brand new Mercedes with cash. I am currently building a new home and I will never work again! I have made over £300,000 to date and expect to be a millionaire within the next four to six months. That's more chance than most people who spend the same amount on the lottery in the same period of time.

This business plan works perfectly each time and I have never failed to earn £50,000 after each mailing. This is a legitimate business opportunity - a perfectly legal money plan. It does not require you to sell anything or come into contact with people and best of all; you only have to leave your home to mail a few letters. If you believe that some day you will get a lucky break, simply follow the rules below and your dreams will come true.

David Rhodes, Nofolk (Spring 1997)

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY AND WITHIN 6O DAYS YOU WILL HAVE RECEIVED OVER £50,000 IN CASH GUARANTEED!

1. Immediately send £1.00 coin with your name and address to each of the 5 names overleaf as soon as possible. Wrap the coins in paper saying "please add my name to the mailing list". This is a legitimate service, for which you are paying £1 (NB if you fail to do this you are operating illegally).
2. Then remove the name which is Number 1 on the list and move the other names up one position i.e. Number 2 becomes number 3 and so on. Then place your name in the number 5 position. This can be done quite easily by either typing or writing the names on a strip of paper gluing it over the existing names on the sheet.
3. Make 200 or more photocopies of this letter, which now has your name in the number 5 position.
4. To obtain ready addressed labels of 200 or more names of opportunity seekers, ring the following mailing list company below, which has proved effective for many opportunity seekers, or choose one from the Direct Mail section of The Yellow Pages or Exchange and Mart.

1-2-3 Express Mailing, 67 Chancery Lane, London. WC2. Telephone: 0800 716 954

5. While waiting for your mailing list to arrive, put copies of your letters into envelopes, stamp and seal them. The addressed labels should arrive within 48 hours of ordering, you then just have to stick them to the envelopes, post them and wait. Within 60 days you will have received £50,000 in cash guaranteed. Keep a copy of this letter yourself so that you can use it whenever you need more cash.

NOTE:- As soon as you mail out these letters you are automatically in the mail order business and people are sending you a £1 to be place on the mailing list. This service is perfectly legal.

A PERSONAL INTRODUCTION TO DAVID RHODES LETTER

Dear Opportunity Seeker,

I thought you would he interested to know of my experience of David Rhodes Business Opportunity Program. In the first 6 months of last year, before I decided to take a chance, I had received 5 or 6 similar letters. I liked this particular letter after seriously working it all out for myself. It turned out to be one of the best things I have ever done. Nothing happened until the 10th day and then over the next 4 months or so I received much more cash than promised. I was astounded at the success of the program. It far exceed the suggested 7.5% rate.

I now have no doubts whatsoever; I have purchased a fabulous property in Hampshire, two new cars and a yacht. I am still participating, as I am sure you will also do, many times over like myself. The more participants the better for all of us. We are just helping each other and ourselves. Forget the lottery, this is where it is at!

I wish you all the good fortune as myself.

GOOD LUCK! M. CHILDS, Southampton February 1998.

PS. To succeed you need to stick rigidly to the program as explained.

Here are some letters from participants in this program:

W S Caspers. About six months ago I received David Rhodes letter. I ignored it. Three more came within three months. I ignored these too. I was tempted, but I was convinced that they were hoaxes. I was wrong! Three weeks later I decided to give it a try. Not expecting too much. Two weeks went by and nothing happened - no money. The next week was unbelievable. I can't say that I received £50,000, but it was not far off £35,000. For the first time in years I was out of debt. Of course it did not take long for me to get through my earnings so I am doing it again. Follow the instructions and join the club.
