Wine bottle labels tend to be thrown out with the bottle, or put in the recycling box, when the wine has been polished off. Some of them are worth preserving as mini works of art.
Some have become quite valuable examples of what people were drinking in the 20th Centure. Actual preservation became more difficult due to the use of adhesives which had a sticking power greater than the intrinsic strength of the paper on which the label was printed. So some examples of wine label are available only through truly heroic efforts by collectors.
