H.E.T. recalled : "Old-time Governor's residence. We stayed in the first floor. The second floor was
suffering from the effects of monsoon rain, although I made myself an office in the drier rooms."

Some of the locals

   Purundha Fort
On one peak of Purandhar is a Hindu temple. The GEE technical site is on the other peak, complete with Nissen hut and portable aerial, carried up an almost vertical slope by Madrasi Regiment engineers and assembled in situ. You can see some of the battlements of the fort directly underneath. The two pictures on the right show a shrine along the way and one of the Fort's gates.

Below : The domestic site viewed from the road to the Fort; we're living in the large building,
which looks as though it was constructed from materials prised from the fortifications.
