Dynamic Optical Art by Philip H. Turner

This is a companion volume to the main work, Exercises In Superimposition, which is based on notes and drawings made by the graphic artist Harry E. Turner in the 1960s/70s. The companion contains material from the above source volume plus some extras.
As noted in the source volume, the compiler spotted that a number of the stacked designs have psychedelic qualities if scrolled rapidly up and down by flicking a mouse wheel forward and back, and the areas above and below the central part of a design can seem to move independently of the centre.
The 3D effect is most readily achieved with vertical stacks made without lateral movement of the basic Shapes but as long as a sizeable central block with a regular structure is created, the Shape may be stacked with some lateral movement.

This brief accessory document collects the original designs that show the 3D effect and adds some extra vertical stacks to further illustrate the effect—or lack of it when the figure has the wrong sort of central complexity.
The PDF file is intended for display on a PC (proper computer) using a mouse to flip the designs up & down; at least at 100% view on a decent-size screen; to learn which are just superimposition patterns and which have hidden talents.
